The son of Sindh High Court Chief Justice disappeared in the middle of the day from a busy market in Karachi and it is now being speculated that he has been kidnapped.

Advocate Ovais Ali Shah is the son of Justice Sajjad Ali Shah who is a serving judge at the Sindh High Court. Shah was last seen outside a super store in an upscale neighborhood of Karachi on Monday but since then, there has been no trace of him.

According to the details provided by DIG South Munir Sheikh, Shah was shopping at Agha’s Super Market in the Defense Housing Authority (DHA) during midday. He was just about to get into his car when four unidentified men in white shalwar kameez came to him and stopped him from getting in.

According to eye witness’s reports, Shah tried to resist those men, but they eventually overpowered him and took him away. No one reported seeing any weapons on those men. Since the time he went missing, Shah’s mobile phone has been switched off and there has been no contact from him or his abductors.

DIG Shiekh said that the police were informed about this incident at around 9:15 PM on Monday and since then, they have been trying to uncover the details. A team of forensic experts have obtained finger prints from Shah’s car which was parked outside the store, and it is being hoped that some of those prints will help in identifying the identity of the kidnappers.

Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad have taken notice of the incident and they have directed law enforcement officials to direct all their resources in locating Shah.
