UK national arrested for wanting to shoot Donald Trump
Tuesday, June 21st, 2016 12:12:21 by fatimaarshadA Briton by the name of Michael Steven Sandford, 20, was arrested from US presidential candidate, Donald Trump’s rally for wanted to execute him. The rally, which was taking place in Las Vegas, was being attended by thousands of people and Sanford tried his best to execute Trump in such a huge crowd.
According to the details provided, Sanford tried to get in front of the crowd by pretending to take Trump’s autograph. When he came close enough, he tried to wrestle a gun out of an officer’s holster and in the process, he got apprehended.
He was immediately arrested and taken by the police. According to court details, he has not entered a plea when he appeared before a judge in Nevada and was remanded in custody until his hearing which is scheduled for July 5. He has been charged with committing an act of violence on ‘restricted ground’.
A federal judge hearing Sanford’s case, labeled him to be a danger and possess risk of non-appearance, due to which he was ordered to be detained before his preliminary hearing. When Sanford appeared in court, he was in shackles and appeared nervous.
Investigators found out that Sanford had been living in the US for the past one and a half year illegally as he overstayed his visa limit. Sanford himself told officers that he had been living in Hoboken, New Jersey, and that he had driven to Las Vegas with the sole purpose of killing Trump. Why he wanted to do so, is still unclear.
