The meeting was attended by Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, DG ISI Geneal Rizwan Akhtar and other senior officers. The meeting was held at the Corps Headquarters in Karachi and it was followed by General Raheel’s visit to the Ranger’s headquarter.
During the meeting, the current political and security situation of the city was reviewed and updates were taken from the officials in Karachi about the law and order situation there. Recent incidents like famous Qawwal Amjad Sabri’s murder and the kidnapping of Owais Ali Shah, son of provincial chief justice, were also discussed.
The killing of Amjad Sabri, was the latest in a series of high-profile murders in Karachi-a city which has been plagued by violence and marked by target killings. The abduction of Owasi Ali Shah in broad day-light also sparked panic in the city, which was only beginning to return to normal life after military operations in the city to eradicate violence.
During his visit to the Rangers’ headquarters, General Raheel Sharif ordered commanders to leave ‘no stone unturned’ in finding out the culprits behind Amjad Sabri’s murder and Owais Ali Shah’s kidnapping.
In a separate meeting, Interiror Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan also assured that the ongoing Rangers’ operation in the city will continue till the time the last terrorist is rooted out from the city.
