Singapore Airlines flight catches fire upon making emergency landing

The Singapore Airlines plane was on its way to Milan, when the pilot noticed something wrong and decided to head back to Singapore to make the landing. According to the details provided, the engine oil warning message had popped up and instead of continuing with the journey, the pilot decided to head back.
When the Singapore Airline flight SQ368 landed, its right engine caught fire.
A statement was released by the carrier which said; “The aircraft’s right engine caught fire after the aircraft touched down at Changi Airport at around 6:50am.”
“The fire was put out by airport emergency services and there were no injuries to the 222 passengers and 19 crew on board.
“Passengers disembarked through stairs and were transported to the terminal building by bus.”
Passengers aboard the Boeing 777-300 ER plane, called it a ‘near death’ experience, but they were thankful for being saved.
“I just escaped death!!!!” Facebook user Lee Bee Yee said in a post that accompanied a video clip of the incident.
“Our Singapore Airline plane was leaking oil 3 hours flying off and the plane had to turned back. After reaching Changi Airport, as the plane was landing, the engine burst into flames!!!! Huge fire was burning!” Lee wrote.
A spokesman for Singapore Airlines also said that all the passengers will be transported to another aircraft which will take them to Milan later in the day and that they would be fully cooperating with authorities to carry out their investigations.
