The passenger coach was trying to negotiate a turn when it upended in the Saman area not far from Wadh, about 40 kilometers away from Khuzdar city.
Shabbir Ahmed Badini, the Assistant Commissioner was journeying way over its speed limit when it attempted to turn and went crashing down the ravine, killing 11 passengers instantly.

The highway is notorious for its several grievous traffic accidents in the recent past with the most serious occurring in March 2014 when two passenger buses and a petrol tanker collided killing 35 people near Hub, with most of the victims being burned to death.
Another collision between a truck and a passenger coach occurred on October 22, 2014 in Balochistan’s Lasbela district, leading to the deaths of 11 people and more than two dozen injured.
