Man arrested by FIA for harassing women on social media

According to the details provided, the suspect, identified as Umar Raja, was picked up by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) after several complaints were received by them.
Raja was arrested on June 21, and he has been remanded into FIA custody for five days. It has been reported that Raja was produced before Judicial Magistrate Abdul Ghafoor Kakar on Monday and the FIA requested the court to send the suspect on 14-day judicial remand. The judge agreed to the demand and now Raja will remain with the authorities for the next fourteen days.
Raja is a resident of Ghauri Town in Islamabad and he had been involved in harassing and blackmailing women for quite some time now. He would first befriend girls on Facebook, talk to them and later blackmail them for money.
Raja was arrested by FIA’s Cyber Crime Control wing, after complaints from some women were taken into account. The wing first carried out its investigations before making the arrest.
The suspect has been booked in two separate cases which were registered against him under the Electronic Transaction Ordinance 2002 and the Pakistan Penal Code. According to the details provided, Raja has confessed to committing the offences during interrogation and has also surrendered electronic equipment used in the commission of offences as well as usernames and passwords of the Facebook profiles in question.
