Amjad Sabri’s family members record statement with the police

Investigations into the murder case of Qawwal Amjad Sabri are going on and most recently the family members of the slain qawwal recorded their statements with the police. Sabri was gunned down by two unidentified gunmen last week as he was going for the shooting of an Iftar transmission.

According to the investigating officers close to the case, the family members and relatives of Sabri did not mention receiving any threats to Sabri’s life. The same family members had hinted at receiving such threats in their initial statements which were recorded immediately after the murder.

It has also been reported that Sabri’s financial matters and accounts are also being monitored closely. The police have asked for the financial details of the slain qawwal from concerned departments and they will be looking at them for any sort of clues.

Amjad Sabri’s manager, who is currently gone for Umrah, will be interrogated by authorities upon his return. It is being hoped that he will be able to provide some clues into the case.

Sabri’s murder is one of the most high-profile ones which took recently in the metropolis city of Karachi. All law enforcement authorities have been directed to use their full efforts in order to find out the culprits. The investigating authorities revealed that the help of Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) has also been sought in this murder investigation.

Amjad Sabri was one of South Asia’s most famous Sufi music singers. He was the son of renowned qawwals of the 1960s, Ghulam Farid Sabri.
