Friday, July 22nd, 2016 9:13:13 by modousarrAmnesty International, on Wednesday, supported the decision of Punjab authorities to register Qandeel Baloch’s murder case as a crime against the state, and also barring the family the right to grant their son mercy.
Following the murder of Qandeel, her father, Muhammad Azeem had filed a police report against his sons. While talking to the BBC, Baloch’s parents spoke about their daughter’s murder and their relationship with her before her death.
Referring to his son, Waseem, who killed Qandeel, Muhammad Azeem said, “I say he should be shot on sight. He suffocated my little one,” adding that, “We were drugged, asleep upstairs. She must have called out to us,” her father revealed. Azeem described Baloch as his “best friend,” but claimed that his son Waseem had been “crazed.”
According to Baloch’s mother, her 26-year-old used to share all her secrets with her. “We were mother and daughter, sharing all our sorrows and secrets. She used to tell me ‘Your daughter is working hard, she’ll go far’,” she said.
Recapping the events that happened on the night of the murder, the mother said she and her husband had been drugged the night of the murder.
“My husband and I fell deep asleep. We had drunk milk, it had been laced with sedatives,” she said.
“In the morning, I called Qandeel for breakfast… but she didn’t get up.”
Describing Qandeel’s corpse, she stated, “Her whole face was covered in bruises, her tongue was black, her lips were black.”
Qandeel Baloch’s brother had confessed to strangling his sister to death while she was asleep on July 15, causing global outrage.
The star’s mother, on Monday, accused Qavi of influencing his sons- Shahid, Aashiq, and Waseem- against Qandeel.
