PPP to make significant changes in party leadership
Monday, July 25th, 2016 3:24:59 by fatimaarshadPakistan People’s Party (PPP) is all set to make some significant changes, including bringing in a new Chief Minister Sindh. The top leadership of PPP met in Dubai to discuss and make these changes so that fresh blood can be brought into the party.
The senior leaders of the party met with the chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former president and co-chairman, Asif Ali Zardari in Dubai. A PPP handout was released to the media in which major points of the meeting were highlighted.
According to the details provided, the PPP leadership has decided to change the current Chief Minister of Sindh and strong contender for the post is Murad Ali Shah. Current CM, Syed Qaim Ali Shah is expected to hand in his resignation tomorrow.
Sharmila Farooqi and Interior Minister Suhail Anwar Siyali will also not be part of the new cabinet which is due to be formed soon.
Other names which are expected to be considered for the post of Sindh Interior Minister are Nisar Khuhro and Agha Siraj Durrani. Whereas Dr. Sikandar Mandhro is expected to become the Speaker of Sindh Assembly.
It was also mentioned in the handout that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is scheduled to come back to Karachi in the coming week in order to meet the party’s provincial leaders and members of the Sindh Assembly before finalizing the changes in the Sindh cabinet.
It has also been reported that the party will make organizational changes in Azad Jammu and Kashmir; however, the specifics of those changes have not been shared yet.
