Shooting at Florida night club leaves two dead, 14 others injured

The shooting incident took place at the Club Blu in Fort Myers where a ‘Swimsuit and Glow Party’ was taking place for a party of teenagers. Just after midnight, several gunshots rang out from the parking of the club located at 3850 Evans Avenue. That was the time when most of the teens’ parents were picking them up and the sound of gunshots created a panic situation.
Two people died on the spot while the injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment. The Fort Myers police reported that most of the victims were between the ages of 12 to 27 years. The injured were transported to the hospital by Lee County Emergency Medical Services.
Due to the shooting, surrounding buildings and some vehicles were also damaged.
So far the motive of the shooting is not known but the police cordoned off the area and according to some reports, three suspects have been detained for questioning. Carell Street, located between Fowler Street and Evans Avenue is closed for public.
Just six weeks back, shooting took place at a gay night club in Florida by an American citizen of Afghan origin by the name of Omar Mateen. The deadly massacre claimed the lives of 49 people and left several others severely injured.
