Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has directed the Minister for Overseas Pakistanis to immediately go to KSA and do what needs to be done in order to help those Pakistanis. After the intervention of the government, supply of food at two camps in Jeddah has been restored and in the other three camps stipend for food will be provided to the occupants.
The premier also directed the ministry to get in touch with the Pakistani mission in Saudi Arabia to help these workers and ensure that all their issues are resolved.
Pakistan Baitul Maal (PBM) has also been given instructions to provide financial resources to the Pakistanis stuck in KSA due to no fault of their own.
According to the details provided, more than 8000 Pakistanis working in KSA have not been paid salaries for the last several months. In addition to that, their work permits have also not been renewed by companies which employed them.
