Woman sets husband on fire in Karachi

A woman allegedly set her husband on fire over a domestic issue in New Karachi’s Bilal Colony. According to the details provided, the incident took place on Thursday when 37-year-old Muhammad Suhail of Federal B Area, had gone to his wife’s parent’s house in order to reconcile with her.

Things went out of hands during the visit as the wife doused Suhail with petrol with the help of her family members and set him on fire. Suhail sustained major burns all over his body and he died on the spot.

When the police investigated Suhail’s sister, the inside story came to light. She told authorities that her brother got married 15 years ago and he was a father of four girls. Suhail’s wife used to quarrel with him a lot and had gone back to her parent’s house on multiple occasions.

Suhail’s sister told authorities that this time around, Suhail had gone to his wife’s parents home in order to reconcile with her and meet with her daughters, however, he did not come back alive.

The police also questioned Suhail’s wife and according to her side of the story, he used to abuse her regularly and even this time around, she had come to her parents house due to his behavior. She further added that Suhail was not mentally stable and that he had self-immolated.

So far five suspects have been arrested including Suhail’s wife, father-in-law and a relative. Raids are being conducted to arrest others as well.
