Police capture man who climbed Trump Tower

Hours long stand-off between the police and an unidentified man who scaled Trump Tower came to an end on Wednesday evening as the police finally succeeded in capturing him.

The man, whose identity has not been released, started his ascend from the 5th floor of the 58-storey high Trump Tower and he was eventually captured by the police from the 21st floor.

Onlookers were amazed as the saw a man climbing the huge building gingerly with suction cups and ropes. Initially, it was not known why he was doing this, but it later came to be light that the man wanted to meet the Republican Presidential candidate, Donald Trump.

Donald Trump owns the Trump Tower in which his house is also located on the top floors of the huge building, while his office is located in the lower floors. When this incident took place, Trump himself was not in the building as he was on holding a rally in Virginia and there was another one planned later in Florida.

“The climber has been taken into custody,” tweeted Sergeant Carlos Nieves from the police public information office.

After news of the man’s arrest hit the waves, Trump tweeted; “Great job today by the NYPD in protecting the people and saving the climber.”

When the police investigated the incident, they found out that an anonymous user had posted a video on Youtube last week, in which a young man dressed in black hoodie, urged fellow Americans to vote for the Republican candidate in November.

“The reason I climbed your tower was to get your attention,” said the man, addressing the White House candidate and identifying himself as “an independent researcher.”

“As for anyone else who´s watching, please help make this video go viral so that it gets to Mr Trump and be sure to get out and vote for Mr Trump in the 2016 election,” the young man added.

After being captured, the climber has been taken to the hospital for psychological evaluation, after which he will most likely be arrested for trespassing.
