Samia Shahid murder case: Mother and sister to be included in investigation

Samia Shahid’s murder case is still under investigation and according to the latest development, her mother, Imtiaz Bibi and sister, Madiha Shahid, are also to be included in the investigation.

Samia Shahid was allegedly killed for ‘honor’ by her family for marrying a man of her own choice after getting a divorce from her first husband and cousin, Muhammad Shakil. The case got widespread attention because Samia was a British national and she had come back to Pakistan because she was wrongfully told that her father was suffering from ill-health.

Samia was living happily with her second husband, Muhammad Mukhtar Kazam in Dubai when her sister called her and told her that their father was not well therefore she should come back to Pakistan. When Samia came back, she was allegedly killed by her family and Kazam lodged an FIR with the police.

According to the latest developments, Imtiaz Bibi and Madiha Shahid will be contacted on August 13 and they will be informed about their nomination in the case by Mukhtar. If they fail to cooperate, then both will be brought to Pakistan through Interpol.

So far, Samia’s father, Muhammad Shahid and her ex-husband Shakil are the prime suspects in the case. Shakil disappeared soon after Samia was killed and the police are still looking for him.

Due to the widespread media attention the case has gotten so far, there is a lot of pressure on the police to resolve this case as soon as possible.
