Qandeel Baloch murder case: Mufti Qavi denies going into hiding as claimed by police

According to police sources, Mufti Qavi, also a possible suspect in the murder case has gone into hiding and has proven to be untraceable. Police say that his phone has been switched off and that he is nowhere to be found.
However, following these allegations, Mufti Qavi gave a statement saying that he never went into hiding, in fact, the police never tried to contact him. The cleric further explained that he was at his seminary and had no idea that the police was looking for him.
He further said that he has no qualms about appearing in front of the officials if the police were to summon him and that he will extend his full cooperation. Mufti Qavi maintains that he is not involved in Qandeel Baloch’s murder case.
A team has been created to arrest Mufti Qavi, who made headlines for appearing in a video along with the deceased social media celebrity, just weeks before her death. In the video, one can see Baloch shaking hands with the cleric, wearing his cap and sitting very close to him on a sofa. Following the release of the video, Mufti Qavi was dismissed from the Ruet-e-Hilal committee.
Mufti Qavi was nominated in the case through a court order along with others accused in the case including Baloch’s brother Waseem Haq Nawaz.
