Mufti Abdul Qavi to undertake lie-detection test in Qandeel Baloch murder case

It seems like the police will not let Mufti Abdul Qavi off the hook easily in Qandeel Baloch’s murder case as the cleric has been arrested and will need to undergo a polygraph test. According to the latest details, Mufti Qavi will have to take the test in order to decipher whether he has been telling the truth and is not involved in Baloch’s murder. If he clears the test, he will be cleared from the case and will be allowed to rest easy.

Officials investigating Baloch’s muder case also told reporters that they seized two mobile phone sets from Mufti Qavi. These phones were sent to Lahore for forensic testing and their records were taken by the police.

Meanwhile Mufti Qavi told the police that he had two mobile phones because he dropped one of them in water, and needed another one for daily use. Police also uncovered that Mufti Qavi’s phone number had been switched off for the past few weeks.

After Mufti Qavi did not make any appearance, there were speculations that he had gone into hiding in order to escape police investigations. However, Mufti Qavi told reporters that he had not gone anywhere and was merely at his seminary for the past ten days.

Last month, the police had summoned him to record his statement for the Qandeel Baloch murder case but Mufti Qavi did not show up for that. So the police sent him a 14-point questionnaire related to Baloch’s death.

Qandeel Baloch met up with Mufti Qavi just a few weeks before her death and took several selfies with him. After this scandal emerged, Mufti Qavi was dismissed from the moon sighting committee.
