Oklahoma man kills Arab-American in a ‘hate crime’ episode

A 61-year-old US national killed a 37-year-old Arab-American for being a ‘dirty Arab’. In a rising wave of hate crimes across the United States, another family fell victim to it as Khaled Jabara was ruthlessly murdered by Stanley Majors.

This was not the first time the Jabaras fell victim to Majors’s atrocities as last year, he ran his car over Khaled’s mother Haifa Jabara. The accident resulted in severe injuries but Haifa managed to survive as a passer-by took her to the hospital.

“He killed our brother while awaiting trial for running over our mother,” the Jabara’s said, NBC News reported. “Only 30 minutes prior to my brother’s shooting, Khalid called police stating this man had a gun and that he was scared for what might happen.”

The police confirmed that they did receive a call from Khaled but they did not take any action as they were ‘unable to locate any criminal activity’.

The Jabara family are furious over the incident and they claim that his death could have been prevented if the police took timely action.

“Our brother’s death could have been prevented,” they said in the statement. “This man was a known danger. He intentionally tried to kill our mother less than one year ago when he ran her over with his car. Based on his racist comment towards us, he should have been charged with a hate crime then.”

The Jabaras are Christian by religion but they claim that Majors’s hatred for them stemmed from the fact that he thought they were Muslims.

According to the details of the incident, Khaled was killed on the night of August 12 at his home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Majors just walked up to the Jabara’s porch and shot Khaled at point-blank range, he then fled the crime scene and was later captured hiding behind a tree near the neighborhood’s school.

Majors is expected to be charged with first-degree murder.
