Local television host poisoned by 14-year-old fan

A local television host by the name of Sana Faisal, was allegedly poisoned by a 14-year-old fan who first took a picture with her. Faisal, who hosts a local news channel, Abb Takk’s program by the name of Khufia was immediately taken to the hospital after she started feeling ill and is now said to be in stable condition.

According to the details of the incident provided, Faisal was approached by a fan, not more than 14 to 15 years of age, for a selfie and an autograph. After taking her picture, the boy, whose name has not been released, gave Faisal an ice-cream which she gladly took and ate.

On the same night, she started throwing up and her condition became very bad after which she was rushed to a local hospital in Karachi. The TV show host was admitted at the Ziauddin Hospital and was administered medicines after which she is now in a stable condition.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the suspect as elaborated by Station House Officer (SHO) Hyderi Market, Zulfiqar Ahmed. The SHO told local media reporters that Sana Faisal went to Peshawari Ice Cream in North Nazimabad with her husband on Sunday night, where he was approached by her alleged poisoner. He reconfirmed that Faisal’s health started deteriorating while she was going home from the ice-cream parlor, indicating that the ice-cream was indeed laced with poison.

Faisal’s statement was recorded at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where she was shifted from Ziauddin Hospital.
