Pakistan Army’s media wing denies Indian claims of surgical strikes on Pakistani soil
Thursday, September 29th, 2016 1:11:19 by fatimaarshadThe Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Army’s media wing, denied Indian claims of a surgical strike on Pakistan. India had claimed that a surgical strike had been launched against a terrorists’ target in Pakistan and that two Pakistani soldiers had been killed as a result of that strike.
The ISPR on Thursday dispelled this claim and said that the two Pakistani soldiers had been martyred as a result of cross-border firing along the Line of Control (LOC), which is a an existential phenomenon.
“The notion of surgical strike linked to alleged terrorists bases is an illusion being deliberately generated by Indian to create false effects. This quest by Indian establishment to create media hype by rebranding cross border fire as surgical strike is fabrication of truth. Pakistan has made it clear that if there is a surgical strike on Pakistani soil, same will be strongly responded,” the ISPR said in its statement.
According to the details provided, India opened unprovoked firing at the LOC in Kel and Lipa sectors at 2:30 AM on Thursday morning, which continued till 8:00 AM. Firing also began at Poonch district at 3:00 AM and as a coordinated attempt, Indian forces also opened fire at Bhimber District, Chamb Sector, samhini Sector, Bandala and Humgah.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif released a statement on Thursday morning, lauding the sacrifices of the Pakistan Army and giving out a clear message to India; “Our wish for peace should not be mistaken for weakness. Pakistan Army is fully capable of defending its borders,” he said.
