‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ will finally see the light of day
Thursday, October 20th, 2016 3:40:52 by fatimaarshadKaran Johar can now breathe a sigh of relief as the safe release of his upcoming movie ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, has been ensured across all cinemas in India.
Johar was in hot waters after tensions between India and Pakistan started running high last month, as he had cast famous Pakistani actor, Fawad Khan in his movie. Due to this all Indian extremists, especially members of Mahrashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) had threatened to burn cinemas wherever ADHM was being screened.
In order to save his film and succumbing to the pressure of the extremists, Johar recently released a short video in which he proclaimed love for his nation, and clarified that when he cast Fawad Khan in his movie, circumstances were different. He vowed to not cast Pakistani actors again in his movie but implored people to watch his latest movie as the livelihood of more than 300 people depended on it.
Yesterday, president of the Film and Television Producers Guild of India, Mukesh Bhatt met with Rajnath Sing, India’s Home Minister, to discuss the possible outcome of ADHM.
“We are entertainers. We are interested in working with artistes, and not whether they belong to Pakistan, China or Africa,” said Bhatt after his meeting with Singh.
Bhatt also met with Mumbai police to ensure that all cinemas screening the film are not attacked and are protected.
“I will give them 200 per cent marks to Mumbai police. But the film isn’t releasing just in Mumbai. We want to safeguard ourselves, so who better than the home minister? It is his domain,” he said, assured that the police will fulfill their duty.
ADHM is expected to release on October 28 in India, around the same time as Diwali.
