Since the time the bodies of three women, badly burnt to the bone, had been discovered in Peshawar, the police had been trying their best to solve the murder mystery. In a recent series of development, not only has the mystery been solved, but two of the five suspects have also been arrested.

The local Peshawar police announced on Thursday that they had arrested two family members of the deceased women and that they were on the hunt for the remaining three suspects.

The badly burnt bodies of three women were discovered from Chandmari area of Tehkal district on October 17. The police had been tipped about the bodies by anonymous sources and initially, it was even hard to recognize the fact that they were women.

The lead investigating police officer, Mohammad Tahir Khan told reporters that the bodies had been burnt with four liters of petrol after the suspects had murdered them, to totally eradicate all evidence.

“It was no less than a huge challenge for us to identity women and arrest those behind their murder,” he said.

Khan said that they were able to solve the murder mystery by following the leads provided by informers and cellphone records. They were then able to identify the suspects as Ghulam Muhammad, the head of the family and his two brothers Pir Muhammad and Azizullah. Two other suspects were also part of the murder.

According to the details of the case, Ghulam Muhammad and the three victims; his wife Husn Bano and their two daughter Ayesha and Shireena, were Afghan nationals but had been living in Peshawar for the most part.

Ghulam Mohammad recently moved back to Kabul along with his family, but the women did not like it there and they secretly came back to Peshawar.

Infuriated by this move, Ghulam Mohammad killed the three women along with his accomplices and later transported their bodies to Chandmari and alighted them.

Ghulam Mohammad has escaped to Afghanistan but the police hope to catch him soon and have him extradited.
