PM Nawaz Sharif applauds Nisar’s role in preventing planned PTI lockdown of the capital
Wednesday, November 2nd, 2016 12:44:25 by fatimaarshadPrime Minister Nawaz Sharif met up with Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan during a federal cabinet meeting on Wednesday and appreciated his and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) efforts for tackling the capital ‘lockdown’ which was planned by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI).
According to the details provided, the PM publically praised Nisar’s efforts and told him that he performed his duties very well in order to protect the state. He even appreciated the LEAs and their role in establishing the writ of the state.
In response to the PM’s praises, Nisar said that he just performed his duties under the guidance of the Prime Minister and he thanked Nawaz for his trust and unconditional support.
Nisar also appreciated the role played by the police and Frontier Constabulary personnel, saying that none of this would have been possible without their support and appreciating how they stood by the law on this occasion.
PTI had been planning to shut down the capital city of Islamabad on November 2, if their demands of PM’s probe into the Panama Leaks issue or his resignation, were not met.
Yesterday, the Supreme Court summoned the PM for inquiry into the Panama Gate scandal on November 3, after which PTI chief Imran Khan, called-off the shutdown and asked his supporters to gather for ‘Day of Thanks’ instead.
Today, PTI supporters will gather at the Parade Ground in Islamabad to celebrate the ‘Day of Thanks’ under the leadership of their chief, Imran Khan.
