Security situation arises at Donald Trump’s rally
Monday, November 7th, 2016 12:37:12 by fatimaarshadAs the last leg of US Presidential candidates’ campaigning gets underway, a false alarm resulted in Donald Trump getting rushed off the stage at a rally in Reno, Nevada. Trump was addressing his supporters at a rally when someone in the crowd shouted ‘gun’ during scuffles with a man who was holding an anti-Trump sign.
According to the details provided, a man by the name of Austyn Crites showed up at the rally, holding a sign which said ‘Republicans against Trump’. Crites came to the rally with the sign concealed at first, but when he took it out, the crowd began to attack him, choking and beating him up. During the scuffle, someone yelled the word ‘gun’ and everyone panicked.
Two security agents immediately seized Trump by the shoulders and hustled him backstage. Meanwhile the police seized Crites and searched the entire crowd for signs of any weapon. When none were found, Trump was allowed to come back on stage to resume his speech.
Trump seemed calm after the incident and he continued his speech after a short time, saying “Nobody said it was going to be easy for us” and adding “We will never be stopped.”
Meanwhile Crites was let go after a thorough investigation. He told reporters that he was a Republican who attended the rally to express his opposition to Trump.
“I came here with this sign expecting boos … But it was just a sign,” Austyn Crites said.
Crites said that he never expected to be treated this way by the crowd. “I have nothing against Trump supporters,” Crites told the station. “We are all registered Republicans and support many of the same candidates for local offices. I have serious concern against Trump,” he added.
