Woman killed after being shoved in front of an approaching train at New York subway

An unsuspecting woman was pushed in front of an approaching train at a New York City subway platform on Monday afternoon, by another woman. According to the details of the incident provided, the victim was pushed by another woman in front of a train and she got killed at the spot.

The scene was described as very gruesome as bystanders watched in horror as the victim’s body got squashed right in front of them. The victim, whose identity has not been revealed, was pushed onto the tracks as a southbound No. 1 train pulled into the Times Square station around 1 pm EST. Immediately after the accident, the subway station was sealed and emergency paramedics arrived at the spot. She was pronounced dead at the scene and police was immediately alerted.

The suspect, also a woman, was immediately apprehended by the police and so far, a motive for the killing is still not known. A number of bystanders were questioned to find out what had actually happened, and most of them just said that the victim was caught unaware and that the suspect pushed her from the back.

A few witnesses reported that the two women had been in a fight just before the unfortunate incident took place. Police are still investigating the matter to come to a definite conclusion.

Emergency responders were able to clear the body from the tracks two hours after the incident. The surveillance videos of the incident and witnesses’ account are being taken into account to determine a motive behind the attack.

The subway was opened after a few hours of the incident to cater to the busy hour in the evening.
