Woman goes to get her kidney stones removed, comes back without left kidney

A woman in Rawalpindi went to a private hospital to get her kidney stones removed, however instead of removing just the stones; the doctor removed her kidney as well.

According to the details provided, the woman, who is a resident of Rawalpindi, went to a hospital located on Saidpur road with her son Abdul Wahab. Talking to reporters, Wahab told them that when his mother, Fahmida Bibi, complained of pain in her stomach, he showed her to Dr. Fazal Ellahi. The doctor advised her to get her kidney stones removed since that was the reason behind her excruciating pain.

Wahab registered a complained against the doctor at the police station. In the complaint he said that he brought his mother to the clinic of Dr Ellahi on November 3 with a stone in her left kidney. The doctor assured the patient and her son that the stone would be removed and the pain will go away. He conducted tests before the procedure and then conducted the operation.

After the operation the doctor cleared Fahmida Bibi to go home and said that she was in good condition. However, when she went home she started bleeding and experienced pain again. Wahab took her to Dr. Ellahi again who operated on her for two and a half hours. When he came out, he told the family that he had removed her left kidney. The family became enraged for not seeking their permission before removing her kidney.

The police went to the clinic to arrest the doctor but he has since gone underground and hasn’t shown up at the clinic.
