The delegation will also include businessmen who will hold meetings with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain on a myriad of bilateral, regional and international issues.
According to the details provided by the foreign ministry, President Erdogan will also address a joint session of parliament. While all the parties will be attending the session, only opposition party Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has refused to attend it as a form of protest over the Panamagate issue.
President Mamnoon Hussain will hold a banquet in honor of the Turkish president. President Erdogan will also be travelling to Lahore where Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will be hosting a dinner in his honor at the Shahi Fort.
Pakistan and Turkey have long been friends and have had several bilateral agreements in the past.
“There are embedded deep in history, common faith, cultural and linguistic affinities and a sense of common destiny. Frequent exchanges at the leadership and ministerial levels and growing cooperation in diverse fields are the hallmarks of the unique bonds between Pakistan and Turkey,” a foreign ministry handout said.
“Both sides are working to give powerful thrust to bilateral trade, investment and commercial cooperation as part of the efforts to build a robust economic partnership.”
