It seems like Bob Dylan doesn’t really want his Nobel Prize!

Famous singer and songwriter Bob Dylan is the first person in history, who will be bestowed with a Nobel Prize for singing songs! However, it seems like the Academy will already be regretting in making this exception, as the legendary singer does not seem keen at all to collect his prize.

According to the details provided, it took Dylan almost a week to acknowledge that he had been awarded the Nobel Prize in literature, and now he says that he is too busy to collect his reward.

Even while acknowledging this accolade, Dylan made it in the most dismissive way ever-by posting an update on his page. The update was made in these simple words; ‘winner of the Nobel Prize in literature’. This was plugged in on the page for The Lyrics: 1961-2012 on his website. However, according to the latest reports, even that update has been removed.

According to a Nobel Academy’s spokesperson, attempts had been made to contact Dylan about the award via close associates of his, but he kept completely mum about it. Several calls were also made but he did not return any.

Eventually, Dylan acknowledged being the recipient of this award but now he has revealed that he will not be able to attend the ceremony in which the awards are bestowed, because he has ‘other commitments’.

“He wishes he could receive the prize personally, but other commitments make it unfortunately impossible,” the Academy relayed.

Even if someone else collects it on his behalf, Dylan will still have to deliver a ‘Nobel lecture’ within six months of receiving the Prize, otherwise it will be taken back from him.
