Larkana Cadet College student gets paralyzed, mute, after severe torture by teacher
Friday, November 18th, 2016 5:06:31 by fatimaarshadMohammed Ahmed is the sole son in his family with six other daughters. He belongs from a lower middle class family and his parents were spending all their savings on him so that one day he may become a learned and capable man. However, all their dreams were shattered when Ahmed’s own teachers beat him so badly that he is left with broken bones, paralysis and loss of speech and bodily functions.
According to the details provided of the incident, Ahmed’s father, Ghulam Ahmed was called to his school four months ago due to his son’s state.
. “On August 6 just after school reopened after summer vacations I received a phone call from station master GM Bhatti saying that my son had suffered fits,” Ghulam Ahmed told reporters.
He said that when he reached the school, his son was covered with injuries on his face, chest, head, back and lower limbs. Due to a recent beating bout, Ahmed had broken sensitive bones in his neck which led to speech impairment and paralytic attack which left his limbs motionless. He cannot even chew and digest solid food due to which he is on a liquid diet.
When Ghulam Ahmed failed to get satisfactory treatment for his son from Larkana, he came to Karachi where doctors told him that Ahmed’s injuries had been caused due to severe beating. The doctors also told him that his treatment is possible in the United States but Ahmed’s family doesn’t have the resources to take him there for treatment.
“I have six daughters, and I’ve spent all my savings on Ahmed,” Ghullam Ahmed wails.
So far the teachers responsible for Ahmed’s state have not been brought to justice.
Even though corporal punishment in school is illegal, it is still prevalent across the country as teachers believe it is effective in disciplining children.
