Singer Mick Jagger becomes a father at 73

Age is clearly just a number for veteran British rock star Mick Jagger who became a father recently at the age of 73 years. His publicist released a statement saying that the Rolling Stones star became a father to a beautiful baby boy and that both mother and baby are doing fine.

“Melanie Hamrick and Mick Jagger´s son was born today in New York and they are both delighted,” said publicist Bernard Doherty.

“Mick was at the hospital for the arrival. Mother and baby are doing well and we request that the media respect their privacy at this time.”

The mother of the baby is Jagger’s 29-year-old ballerina partner Melanie Hamrick. She gave birth to the boy at a hospital in New York, according to a statement released on behalf of the singer.

Jagger’s son is two and a half years younger than his great granddaughter, who was born in May 2014. The legendary singer has seven children ranging in ages from 17 to 46, from four previous relationships. The names of his children are; Karis, Jade, Elizabeth, James, Georgia, Gabriel and Lucas. He has five grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Jagger and Hamrick’s relationship began 2014, soon after his partner of 13 years, L’Wren Scott committed suicide. The pair has been together since then but they have no intentions of tying the knot.

This is not the first Rolling Stones member who has a child at the later years of his life. Just six months back band-mate Ronnie Wood’s wife Sally Humphreys gave birth to twin girls. Wood himself is 69-years-old.
