Amir Khan’s mother claims she never abused Faryal Makhdoom
Thursday, December 15th, 2016 6:19:45 by fatimaarshadAmir Khan’s family saga continues as now the boxer’s mother has spoken up about the allegations which were pinned against her family by her daughter-in-law, Faryal Makhdoom.
Talking to reporters from her home in Britain, Falak Khan denied all allegations of physical abuse by Makhdoom. Earlier, the boxer’s wife had claimed that she had been “bullied physically and mentally” by her in-laws.
“No one has called Faryal bad names, or beaten her; nor has anyone mistreated her,” Falak Khan told at her home in Britain. Falak Khan, however, said she disapproved of their daughter-in-law’s choice of clothes. “I once told her, ‘Faryal, do not wear this type of clothes; wear a scarf’,” she said.
Makhdoom had also claimed that her in-laws would cut her out of family photos, had tried to hit her several times and also tried to engineer a divorce between herself and her husband.
Makhdoom said that the reason she is opening up about these things is so that women should not tolerate such domestic abuse at home and that they should stand up to bullying by their in-laws.
Having enough of the family brawl, Amir Khan also broke his silence over the matter and while he sided with his wife, he urged both sides to quit this ‘childish behavior’.
“My parents are my parents and my wife is my wife. Whatever misunderstanding has happened they should keep it private,” he tweeted on Tuesday.
Khan also cautioned that if this did not end here, both his wife and his family might lose a husband and a son.
