Friday, December 16th, 2016 5:12:23 by fatimaarshadA mob attack on an Ahmadi place of worship in Chakwal’s district Dulmial resulted in chaos in Chakwal after religious parties are terming an FIR registered against the culprits as unjust.
According to the latest reports, Section 144 of the Pakistan Penal Code was imposed in Chakwal by the District Coordination Officer (DCO), Mehmood Javed Bhatti, in order to maintain the law and order situation in the area.
Earlier, religious leaders had announced that they will observe Friday as a ‘day of protest’, over the FIR registration.
According to the issued order, hate speech, writings, wall chalkings and incendiary slogans which could incite sectarian violence and the display of weapons will be banned. Strict action will also be taken against those who hold rallies without permission from concerned authorities and the assembly of five or more people in public places is also banned under the imposed law.
Despite these sanctions, religious parties are still in action by using Facebook and by passing resolutions in all the mosques of the district. Leaders of various religious organizations in Chakwal warned of protests while addressing a press conference held at the residence of Shaibzada Abdul Qadoos Naqashbandi, the district president of the Almi Majlis-i-Tahaffuz-i-Khatm-i-Nabuwat. They decided to observe Friday as a day of protest and asked all mosques to address the Chakwal incident in their Friday sermons.
The religious leaders also rejected the FIR of the Dulmial incident and demanded the registration of a new FIR with their own terms. They warned that if their demands were not met, they would launch nationwide protests.
Meanwhile after the attack on an Ahmadi place of worship, all members of this community have left Dulmial fearing for their safety.
