Thursday, December 29th, 2016 12:37:30 by fatimaarshadJust two days after ‘Star Wars’ actress Carrie Fisher died, her mother Debbie Reynolds also passed away. Like her daughter, Reynolds was also an actress and a writer and she was best known for her role in classic musical ‘Singing in the Rain’.
According to the details provided, Reynolds died due to suffering from a heart attack. The legendary actress was rushed to the hospital in ‘fair to serious’ condition, but her condition deteriorated and the doctors were not able to revive her once she passed away.
She was 84-years-old when she died.
Reynolds was visiting her son, Todd Fisher at his home in Beverly Hills, when she started experiencing pain in her chest at around 1:00 pm on Tuesday. She had reportedly gone there to discuss the funeral arrangements of her daughter.
“She wanted to be with Carrie,” Todd was quoted as telling industry weekly Variety magazine.
Reynolds and Fisher were close as mother, daughter and they spent quality time together even after Reynolds split up with her husband.
“Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter,” she posted on Facebook following her daughter’s death.
“I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop.”
Reynolds got married to singer Eddie Fisher in 1955 and the couple had two children together; Carrie and Todd Fisher. After a rocky four years together, the couple got divorced in 1959 when Fisher left Reynolds for her friend and actress, Elizabeth Taylor.
