German-Pakistani woman killed by husband
Thursday, December 29th, 2016 7:34:17 by fatimaarshadA German national of Pakistani origin was tortured and later killed by her husband, according to the allegations pinned by the victim’s sister.
The victim, who has been identified as Uzma, was a doctor living and working in Germany, who had come to visit her family in Pakistan. Uzma’s marriage to her second husband, Shahbaz Ali, took place after she had separated from her first husband. Their children are Ammar and Roha, who had come to Pakistan along with their parents.
According to the details provided by the police chief Hassan Asad Alvi, there are speculations that the case is actually that of honor killing, but so far, nothing can be said conclusively.
Police have taken the suspect and a facilitator in custody. Uzma’s sister, Qamrunnissa told police that her sister was shot dead by her husband during a heated argument, which he later tried to cover up as an accident.
According to Qamrunnissa’s account, Uzma had come to Pakistan with her family on December 19. Shahbaz went to his hometown in Jhelum while Uzma took the kids to meet her parents in Kharian. She revealed that Shahbaz was abusing with his wife and he had also subjected her to domestic violence.
She further said that Shahbaz had taken his wife to his relative’s place and at around 5:45 pm on Tuesday, he called up her family and told them that Uzma ahd fallen and died.
Qamarunnissa maintained that her sister had been shot dead by Shahbaz during a heated argument and he was later trying to make it look like an accidental death. Qamarunnissa said that when she went to Jhelum DHQ Hospital to look at her sister’s body, she found a wound and pochmarks on her chest and swelling at the back of her head.
The police have registered a case against Shahbaz and have taken him and an accomplice by the name of Malik Naveed into custody.
