Monday, February 6th, 2017 5:14:37 by fatimaarshadMystery surrounding the death of a teenage mehndi artist whose body was found abandoned in Karachi, has been resolved. Police claimed to have resolved the murder mystery and have named the girl’s cousin as the culprit.
The girl’s body was found in an under-construction building in Surjani Town on Feb 1. It had been speculated that she was strangulated with her own dupatta, which was found near her body. The girl herself was identified with the help of her mobile phone, which was also lying close to her dead body.
According to Surjani Town DSP Sohrab Meo, the girl was last seen with her male cousin in North Karachi’s Sector 11-A. The police took the cousin into custody and interrogated him, during which he confessed to having killed his teenage cousin.
According to the suspect’s account, he was in a relationship with his cousin. She called him on Jan 31, to meet near a petrol station in the area. She asked for Rs. 500 from him and he gave her the money. After that, the girl asked him to take somewhere private so that they could discuss a problem.
The boy took her to 4-K Chowarngi on his motorbike, and over there, she revealed that she was pregnant and that she had no option but to abort or to tell her mother everything.
Upon hearing this, the suspect became nervous and asked the girl to accompany him to Shah Noorani. He had decided to get rid of his cousin over there, but did not get a chance. He later brought her to an under-construction building in Surjani Town and strangled her with her own dupatta.
The suspect will now be charged with first degree murder.
