Man kills pregnant wife over domestic dispute in Jacobabad

An unfortunate incident in Jacobabad, resulted in the death of a pregnant woman, who was killed by her own husband over a domestic dispute. The incident took place in Karimabad Muhalla of Jacobabad on Monday night, when an enraged husband just killed his wife, who was carrying his child.

The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Hawa, who was married to a man named Mehram Panhwar. On the other hand, Hawa’s brother was married to Mehram’s sister as per the watta-satta tradition. A small argument took place between Hawa and Mehram, upon which he sent his wife back to her maternal home.

“Following some domestic dispute a few days ago, Mehram sent my daughter to my house and took away his sister,” said Hawa’s father, Ghulam Nabi Jakhro.

Jakhro further explained that on Monday, Mehram came to fetch his wife but she asked him to first bring his sister back as they needed a woman to look after the house. Jakhro’s wife is old due to which she is unable to do house chores.

After Hawa made the request, Mehram left and later came back with some men and killed his wife. He committed the murder along with his accomplices and later fled the scene.

Police reached the scene of the incident and shifted the deceased woman’s body to Civil Hospital, Jacobabad for post-mortem. After the formalities were completed, Hawa’s body was handed back to her family.

After the incident, the police raided a house in the same vicinity and arrested the victim’s brother-in-law and his maternal uncle. The suspect is still at large but the police is conducting raids to arrest him as well.
