Woman enters Islamabad gym to secretly film female swimmers

An unidentified woman claiming to be a US diplomat of Pakistani origin sneaked into a pool at a private gym in Islamabad and secretly tried to film swimmers there. When she got caught, she assaulted security staff and misbehaved with them.

According to the details provided, the incident took place on Saturday when it was women’s swimming time at a health club facility in Islamabad. A woman, fully dressed, came into the poolside and took out her phone to secretly start filming the women swimmers there.

“It was the hour designated for women and girls when she started filming women at the swimming pool using her mobile phone,” the manager of Smarts in Safa Gold Mall told The Express Tribune.

“When a member of the staff tried to stop the woman, she pushed him away and created a scene,” he said, adding that she later slapped a female mall security official.

The manager further revealed that the woman did not have a club membership and she had entered the facility fully dressed. The sole purpose of her being there was to film the female swimmers. Upon being questioned, the woman did not reveal her motive for filming these women.

When the argument between the woman and the management escalated, the later called the police, who arrived within a few minutes. “We handed over the woman and her phone to the police. They took her away, but later released her,” he claimed. The manager further said that the woman claimed to be a US diplomat of Pakistani origin.

The Kohsar police said that they had received a complaint and went to the scene but by that time the issue had been resolved. “Both the parties reached a compromise and settled the issue, so we did not intervene,” an official said.
