Peshawar Zalmi on a roll after PSL victory
Thursday, March 9th, 2017 12:57:24 by fatimaarshadAfter defeating Quetta Gladiators in the final match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) second edition, Peshawar Zalmi has been getting a lot of appreciation for the victory. According to reports, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has offered the owner of Peshawar Zalmi, Javed Afridi, for friendly matches between their cricket franchises.
Just like PSL, India also has a Indian Premier League (IPL), and the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, senior journalist, Abdul Majid Bhatti, congratulated Afridi for his team’s win.
Shah Rukh Khan has offered for Peshawar Zalmi and Kolkata Knight Riders to play a series of three matches at a neutral venue which would either be London or Dubai.
According to the details provided by Afridi, Shah Rukh Khan personally called him and asked him to convince the Pakistani government while he himself would convince the Indian government for the matches to take place.
Shah Rukh Khan is not the only one who invited Zalmi for such an opportunity. Afridi revealed that following the win, he received congratulatory messages from Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Sanjay Kapoor, Gulshan Grover and Nargis Fakhri.
The Afghan President also invited Zalmi to come to Afghanistan and play a friendly match in Kabul.
Afridi also elaborated how Darren Sammy and Marlon Samuels played a pivotal role in the success of their team. Prior to coming to Lahore for the final, the two cricketers said that they were honored to go to Lahore and play in the final, adding that they were also ready to sacrifice for their team.
