Saif Ali Khan reveals he contemplated changing son’s name

Bollywood couple, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor gave birth to a beautiful baby boy in December last year and named him Taimur Ali Khan. However, the public did not take well with the name and they were hugely criticized for naming their son after a Muslim conqueror. Despite the uproar, they did not change their son’s name, but in a recent interview, Saif revealed that he contemplated doing that.

Speaking to Indian reporters, Saif said; “I haven’t told anyone about this — I thought for a second about changing his name. For a couple of weeks. And Kareena was a little against it, and she said, ‘People respect you for your opinion and you can’t’… So I said, yeah, but it’s not about the people. I don’t want him to get unpopular.”

While rumors were abuzz that the actors might still change their son’s name, they were put to rest by Kareena at the Zee Cine Awards, when she was asked if she calls Taimur, ‘Little John’. To this Kareena replied; “That is wrong information. His name is Taimur Ali Khan.”

It was also revealed that Kareena wasn’t really happy when her husband shared Taimur’s first picture, over which the internet was sent swooning.

In an interview with an Indian magazine, the Love Aaj Kal star revealed, “Yes, she was not happy. She was like, “Nazar lag jayegi and all of that”. And then added with a smile: “But agar nazar lagni hoti toh Kareena would be in the hospital by now. I don’t believe in all of that.”

He later stated, “I didn’t mean to share it. It was my WhatsApp display picture. But it is fine. I don’t plan to hide him.” he added.
