According to the details provided, Qandeel Baloch used to provide money to her family, including her brothers. Due to the financial boost the family got, they moved from their village in Dera Ghazi Khan, to a bigger town of Multan. The family rented a house in Muzaffarabad town on the Muzaffargarh-Multan road, four years ago.
According to Qandeel’s father, Muhammad Azeem, since the death of his daughter, the family has not been able to pay rent and now the landlords have evicted them from the house.
According to the model’s parents, she was the sole breadwinner of the family – responsible for all expenses including food, medicine.
“My daughter was the only financial supporter for us,” Azeem said. “She not only supported us but also her brother who killed her.”
The family has now decided to move back to their ancestral home in Dera Ghazi Khan.
Qandeel Baloch, whose real name was Fouzia Azeem, was strangulated by her brother in July 2016. Qandeel was known for posting controversial videos on her Facebook account.
Qandeel’s brother himself admitted to his crime and was arrested by the police. However, his parents later tried to save one of their sons but the police registered a case against them.
Speaking with the media, Qandeel’s parents had denied the accusation. “We wrongly nominated Aslam Shaheen in Qandeel’s murder. We were enraged at that time,” Azeem and his wife said.
