Fake peer in Sargodha tortures, kills 20 people
Monday, April 3rd, 2017 10:39:55 by fatimaarshadAbdul Waheed, the custodian of a shrine in Sargodha and a man who claimed to be a peer or religious leader, tortured and killed 20 disciples on Sunday. Waheed confessed to killing all those people and claimed that they were planning to poison him, due to which he killed all those people.
While talking to reporters, Waheed said that he had found out that his spiritual leader’s son, Asif, was adding poison to his food.
“I caught him and probed further, upon which I got to know a woman was also involved with him in the plan [of killing me],” he said.
The accused further said that he suspected it to be a scheme against him, due to which he made a plan in his mind and called up others to summon them to the shrine. When his disciples gathered, he tortured them and killed 20 of them.
Some of the tortured victims managed to escape and alerted locals of the brutalities which were taking place in the shrine. The locals called the police and eventually Waheed was arrested and the injured were taken to the hospital.
According to some people, there was an issue of custodianship of the shrine between Waheed and others. However, before this episode, Waheed had never shown any suspicious behavior.
Because the locals hold Waheed in such high regard, members of the victims’ families are refusing to file a complaint against him. Eventually, the police had to take matters in their own hand and registered a case against him.
