Indian news anchor reads out her husband’s death on live TV
Tuesday, April 11th, 2017 9:26:11 by fatimaarshadAn Indian TV news anchor is being hailed as an extremely brave woman for calmly reading out the news of her own husband’s death on live television. This had to be the most difficult breaking news for Supreet Kaur, but she kept her nerves calm and only reacted once she was offline.
Kaur, 28, is a news anchor for IBC24, and she had to read out the breaking report of a car accident which killed three people, including her husband. As is the case with live news, the news caster does not know about the breaking news till the time it is time to relay it.
Kaur routinely relayed the report on Saturday morning, after a local reporter called to give details about an accident which had resulted in the death of three people. The accident involved a Renault Duster travelling along the same route as Kaur’s husband. Even though Kaur realized during the news that her husband might be the victim of the accident, she remained very calm and her composure left her colleagues speechless.
Without mentioning the names of the victims, Kaur said that a total of five people were travelling in the vehicle, of which three died on the spot. The details of the accident were enough for Kaur to realize that her husband was in the accident since she knew he was travelling along the same route in Renault Duster along with four other people.
After completing the news, Kaur called her relatives and the news was confirmed. She had an emotional breakdown but everyone praised her for keeping strong during live television.
