Lahore: convert raped in broad daylight
Thursday, April 27th, 2017 10:25:12 by fatimaarshadA girl who had converted from Christianity to Islam in order to marry a Muslim boy, claimed that she was raped in broad daylight while the police do not believe her story and refuse to register an FIR.
The incident took place in the Raja Jang area of Raiwind on Wednesday and since then, an FIR has not been registered despite the family’s insistence.
The police refuse the allegations leveled by the girl, saying that the accused forcefully entered her property, slapped and harassed her but never committed an act of rape.
Azeem, the 20-year-old girl’s father-in-law told reporters that his son and his wife lived at the dairy farm of one Mubashar Ahmed in Mir Muhammad, which is an area of Raiwind. He said that her husband had left the house in order to take fodder for the animals and that is when their neighbor, Awais Ahmed, forcefully entered the house while the victim was alone.
Azeem claimed that Awais sexually assaulted her and then fled the scene. Being the father of a girl, he said that he would never defame her by leveling a false allegation. However, he claims that the police is sitting idle and refused to register the case.
Meanwhile, the owner of the farm, Mubashar Ahmad also talked to reporters and told them that the girl had embraced Islam a few months back and was living a happily married life with one of his employees. He said that it was shocking to learn of the incident and despite their insistence, the police was not registering a case.
Meanwhile, one of the police officers told reporters that the girl had initially filed a complaint against Awais in which she had mentioned that he had slapped and abused her. He said that the allegation of rape was added later and the case will only be registered once a medical examination has been conducted.
