Sahir Lodhi goes ballistic on a woman during TV show; later defends his outburst
Thursday, June 1st, 2017 1:19:58 by fatimaarshadThese days TV show host Sahir Lodhi is hosting a special Ramzan show called Ishq Ramzan. Even though not a lot of people watch his show on a regular basis, nearly all of Pakistan is watching a clip which is going viral these days.
During a game at the show, Lodhi asked one of the women from the audience to participate. She had to deliver a short speech on the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
During the speech, the woman ‘blamed’ Jinnah for the current prevailing problems in the country. She went on about the problems being faced especially by women in Pakistani, including how they are not treated the same way as their male counterparts, honor killing and forced marriages. Towards the end of her speech, she proclaimed; “Quaid -e- Azam come and see what has happened to your country.”
Even though she did not directly blame Jinnah, Lodhi took it that way and when the audience started clapping at the end of the speech, he got extremely angry and asked everyone to stop applauding and laughing. He then began lecturing everyone in the audience and scolded the woman who gave the speech.
The video has been making rounds on the internet and everyone is criticizing Lodhi for his disrespectful behavior towards the woman.
Lodhi came out in his own defense saying that those who are criticizing him are misguided and unfair. He said that everyone is showing the clip where he is scolding the woman, but no one is showing the scene where he apologized to her.
Despite such a big blunder, Lodhi still did not appear to be remorseful over his behavior and instead defended his action.
