London attacker campaigned against Pakistan
Thursday, June 8th, 2017 1:14:58 by fatimaarshadThe mastermind behind the deadly London Bridge attack, Khurram Shehzad Butt, used to regularly campaign against the state of Pakistan and called for replacing the democratic system of government with Shariah.
The London Bridge attack took place on Saturday night by three attackers who first rammed a car into the crowds and later got out of it and stabbed people to death. As a result of the attack, seven people were killed and more than 40 got injured.
The attackers were also killed in an exchange with the police.
Butt was a British national who was born in Pakistan. Investigations into his background have revealed that he used to work under the banner of Al-Muhajiroun and its offshoots (Al Ghurabaa, The Saviour Sect, Islam4UK).
Butt believed that Pakistan should come under the Shariah or Islamic law and would regularly stage demonstrations outside Pakistan High Commission, Regent’s Park Mosque and at venues in Southall, East London and Luton.
Butt took part in several demonstrations alongside hate preachers Mizanur Rahman and Anjem Choudary, who was the leading figure of the banned outfit and is currently in the jail.
Choudary and his followers ran campaigns against the Pakistan Army when General Pervez Musharraf was the chief. They blamed him making Pakistan a part of ‘war on terror’ and called him ‘Busharraf’— referring to his alliance with then US President George W Bush.
Rahman and Choudary both would urge Britons to join Daesh and get involved in killings. They were both sent to jail for five and a half years in September for their offences.
It is believed that Butt was a follower of both these men and would follow in their footsteps.
