Katy Perry reveals personal struggles during marathon live stream
Tuesday, June 13th, 2017 11:21:44 by fatimaarshadEvery person has their idols and celebrities mostly are the ones who are hailed as perfect beings who have no shortcomings. However, that is far from reality as even celebrities suffer from the same problems as normal human beings do and at times, their situation is even worse.
Katy Perry is one such celebrity who came out with her problems over the weekend when she live streamed her life for 96 hours. The singer invited fans to watch her lead her life over the weekend inside her Los Angeles home as she went about her life doing yoga, cooking, sleeping, playing with her dog Nugget and chatting with other celebrities who showed up at her door from time to time. Her entire home was covered by 41 cameras which were put up in different locations of her house.
At one point during the live stream, Perry—born Katheryn Hudson to conservative Christian parents in California—said she had many struggles in her life.
“I built up this Katy Perry thing that everybody knows and that’s the reason why they’re tuning in and it’s fantastic, but it’s more of a facade,” she told the therapist Siri Singh.
Perry revealed that therapy had generally helped her but she said she still struggled with depression.
“I’m ashamed because of course Katy Perry is so strong, but it’s hard because I feel ashamed that I would even have those thoughts and feel that low or that depressed,” said Perry, the most followed person on Twitter with nearly 100 million followers.
“I’m human and I’m living under this crazy microscope,” she said, tears smudging her mascara.
“Look at Katy Perry — she’s so glamorous, she’s rich, she’s luxurious, successful and, like, Katheryn Hudson — I didn’t have any money, I didn’t have any influence, I didn’t have anything.”
Perry’s struggles show that even celebrities, who apparently seem to have everything, are not immune to depression and low feelings.
