Carrie Fisher’s cause of death revealed
Tuesday, June 20th, 2017 8:41:15 by fatimaarshadThe cause of death of Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher has been revealed and it has been learnt that the actress died of drug overdose. Traces of cocaine, heroin and party drug MDMA, also known as ecstasy were found in Fisher’s blood, according to an autopsy report which was revealed on Monday.
The autopsy report was prepared by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner who also revealed that it could not be ascertained what effect the cocaine and other drugs may have had on her system. The Coroner’s office ruled on Friday that Fisher’s death was due to sleep apnea.
“The significance of the cocaine (regarding the cause of death) cannot be established at this time,” the report said. “We cannot establish the significance of the multiple substances that were detected in Ms. Fisher’s blood and tissue with regard to the cause of death.”
It is being speculated that the drugs may have had a deadly effect on Fisher as she was also suffering from sleep problems, which would have aggravated the problem.
The examiner also said that the actress probably took cocaine 72 hours before her death. However, it could not be determined when the other drugs were taken.
Fisher passed away at the age of 60 years, on December 27, just four days after she went into cardiac arrest on a flight from London to Los Angeles. She was rushed to the hospital immediately after her flight landed and the doctors treated her. However, she remained in a state of coma for four days and after that passed away.
The Star Wars actress had a long history of cocaine addiction in the 1980s, and she also suffered from bipolar disorder. Fisher was quite open about her addiction struggles but no one knew that she was still taking drugs.
