Family of slain Quetta traffic policeman tricked into compromising with MPA Achakzai

A traffic policeman was run over near Quetta’s GPO Chowk by a vehicle belonging to MPA Majeed Khan Achakzai, and a few days after the incident, reports started circulating that the slain policeman’s family has pardoned the MPA in exchange for money.

However, these reports were quashed by the son of the deceased policeman Haji Attaulla.

“Neither have we reached any agreement nor are we willing to compromise,” said the son of the slain policeman, Moazzam Attaullah.

“Ziarat District Commissioner Muhammad Rafique came for Fatiha Khwaani and to give Eid greetings. He gave us Rs200,000 as Eidi and gave us a blank paper and asked us to sign and write that we have received the amount for Eidi,” added Moazzam.

“They have taken the signature of my grandfather and uncle by deceit,” he claimed and added that the family will not forgive their father’s killer.

“The Supreme Court will avenge our father’s death.”

An agreement letter showing that Attaulla’s family had pardoned the MPA after taking Rs. 200,000, appeared on social media. On that agreement, the thumbprints and signatures of Attaulla’s family were clearly visible.

Meanwhile, a picture of the MPA has emerged which shows him sitting in the driver seat of the vehicle which ran over a traffic policeman in Quetta. The photo shows Achakzai sitting on the driver seat and holding a mobile phone in his hand.

Another photo shows an air cooler placed outside Achakzai’s jail cell. The MPA is currently on a five-day police remand.
