Reason behind Nisar’s discontent with the government revealed

There had been various guessing games going on regarding why the Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was not present at various important cabinet meetings and many people speculated that the minister is disgruntled over some matter.

When a press conference by the minister was announced on Monday, everyone waited anxiously to know the reason. However, the presser was postponed that day and the next day when Nisar did appear for it, he ‘postponed’ the important political discussion because of the bomb blast which took place in Lahore.

After that, government official dismissed media reports that the interior minister had differences with the leadership of the party and termed those as ‘guessing game’ and speculation’. However, on Wednesday, Nisar confirmed that he had been ‘excluded’ from party consultations after he expressed his opposing views on ‘some issues’.

A spokesman from the ministry clarified the matter; “The truth is that he [Nisar] had a stance over some issues which he expressed in an internal meeting of the party [PML-N] after which he was excluded from the consultative process,” the spokesperson said in a statement on Wednesday.

He went on to say that the interior minister was seeking an explanation for his exclusion from the PML-N meetings, and “wants to know if the decision was made due to his opposing stance, or due to some other reason”. “Unless a clarification is provided, it will be difficult to resolve problems in a positive manner.”

The statement came after a long meeting took place between Nisar, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and three other PML-N leaders – Shehbaz Sharif, Ishaq Dar and Khawaja Saad Rafique.
