Indian man booked for repeatedly raping 12-year-old daughter

A man from Dombivli, Mumbai, has been arrested for repeatedly raping his 12-year-old daughter for a period of 15 months. The crime took place while his wife away and he threatened his daughter to keep this dirty secret or else face grave consequences.

The accused had been working as an attendant in Central Railway but no one knew of his character at work.

It has been reported that despite being threatened into keeping her mouth shut, the daughter revealed the horrible truth to her mother once she came back and while her father was away for a week.

As a result, her mother reported the incident to the police and lodged a complaint against her husband. As soon as the suspect came back to town, the police arrested him for raping his seventh-grade daughter.

The rape case has been registered under section 376 and 377 of the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act 2012. The man has been remanded in police custody till August 24.

Another such incident was reported in June when an Indian police officer had been arrested on charges of raping his daughter inside a police post in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The assistant sub-inspector posted at Manth chowki of Mathura at the Agra-Delhi Yamuna Expressway, was due to retire in a few days before he committed the crime.

His 35-year-old married daughter had come to meet her father when he locked her up and raped her. The 58-year-old accused was arrested and stripped of all his privileges.
