British teen kills self after being bullied

A British teenager hanged himself to death after he was bullied by his classmates for being too good looking, according to his parents.

The victim has been identified as 15-year-old Brandon Rayat, who went through extreme mental and physical torture before he hanged himself to death. According to sources, his bullies would call him a ‘paedophile’, sent him messages from a social media account in the name of Jimmy Savile and even threatened to rape his mother.

His mother, Mina, had left her job as a hairdresser in order to support her son.

“The bullies got in his head and sucked the life out of him, it just wasn’t Brandon. Brandon was a handsome boy and a lot of girls took a shine to him as he got older. I think the bullies were jealous of that. He even shaved his hair off so he could be like them – he just wanted to be accepted,” she said.

According to Brandon’s mother, her son wanted to become a doctor and had his whole life planned out but things changed entirely a year ago when the bullying started. He even asked his parents to move to another country so that he would never see his bullies again.

Brandon’s parents realized the gravity of the situation when he suffered a mental breakdown. They took him to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services where he attended 11 appointments. Brandon’s parents pled with the officials at facility to hospitalize him but they refused saying that would only increase his stress level.

Since the incident, CAMHS has formed an outreach crisis team so that mental health experts are able to treat children in their homes.
